company building
building
I co-founded Iterable in 2013 to give any brand the kind of personalized, data-driven messaging that, back then, only the giants could afford. Twelve years later it runs communication for more than 1,200 of them.
many hats, one company
Founder, Chief Scientist, President, Board Member
Handed off the CEO seat in mid-2025 to go back to technical work and problem solving. Mostly Nova, our agentic AI.
CEO & President, Board Member
Took the CEO seat in March 2021 and announced a $200M Series E a month later. The stretch where we crossed $100M and then $200M+ in ARR.
Founder & President, Board Member
Started Iterable in a small office in downtown San Francisco after leaving Google. The zero to one years: first customers, first hires, first outside money.

what we built
Iterable is a customer-communication platform: personalized messaging across email, SMS, push, and in-app, at the scale of billions of messages. My focus now is the AI layer: Nova, our agent for marketers, and the open-source MCP server that lets an AI assistant talk to an Iterable account in plain English.
Before any of it I was on Google's AdSense team, and before that I studied business, computer science, and information systems at Boston College. I left Google in 2013 to start the company.
angel investing
I angel invest in early-stage companies. Having spent 2013 to 2015 on the other side of that table (trying to get a first check signed, which CRV eventually did), I have a great deal of sympathy for founders in the part of the story nobody writes about.
